Daniel Mettam of Glen Eden won Rookie of the year at Victoria Club prizegiving. This is the second time in three years this award has gone to an Auckland Club member and regular Auckland Bucket Racer as Avalon won it in 2006. Daniel started the year qualifying last in streetstock at round one and won the class at Round 6 on Saturday. He was riding a streetstock bike supplied by Vic club for the season and has bought his own one for next year. He rides a CB125T, built by John Connor, at buckets. The Mettam's have a photo of Daniel and Avalon side by side on the grid at the NZ mini motox champs in Kaukapakapa 8 years ago!
